Concert Music for large ensembles

Note that James has composed a lot of additional music for large ensembles which appear in the education pages. Some works orginally commissioned for education ensembles which are challenging enough at least for adult community ensembles also appear here.

Passion (2012). Symphonic Winds, extended virtuosic Brass, two Pianos eight hands.

Passion was commissioned by MLC School and was premiered at the Sydney Opera House on May 21st, 2013. A recording will appear here soon. See also the resources page (Orff Conference 2013) for learning activities to do with this work.

Concertino for Double Bass (2010). Double Bass and small String Orchestra.

Commissioned by MLC School for Aurora Henrich.

Premiered by the Sydney University Symphony Orchestra under Gareth Tilley. Recorded by the Ku-Ring-Gai Philharmonic Orchestra under Wilfred Lehmann for 2MBSFM. God Child was composed in memory of my godchild Jennifer Nancye Tomlinson 29.10.98 – 29.12.98.
